This photograph on linen had significant foxing and advanced breaking down of the silver component with-in the darkest areas of the emulsion.
There was enough information remaining to be able to accurately retrieve the detail of this fine example of Victorian dress.
A copy was made of the original and retouched traditionally.
There was a point during the process that a reduced amount of foxing could have been left remaining to retain a more antiquated result. However, the decision was made to remove all discolouration.
